Steam Butterfish & Chinese Gravy



Happy New Year  and Happy Chinese New Year 2014 ! to everyone . This year, you know, we can also celebrate Chinese New Year in January ! It is an important festival for all Chinese race people around the world. Every year a lot of delicious food will be prepared to worship their passed away ancestors.  One of the popular recipe we are going to present here may click you, our SHARP Cooking fans, a good idea in preparing a dish to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

 

To avoid consuming more fat, one of the good ideas and be healthy, is to change a deep fried dish to a steamed dish by selecting  and apply a tasty recipe to be included in the menus.

Tip  :
                  A good and easy trick to reduce the strong fishy smell is to use cooking salt.
                  Just gently rubbing the cooking salt thoroughly on the fish, and then wash with clean water.


Properties and Benefits  :
Pompano            :   is suitable to elderly peoples health and those who want to do the fat-intake control. The pompano contains high protein and low fat  and easy to be digested.
The bamboo shoot :   contains calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin A, B1 and C. Besides, the high fiber will ease the process of reducing the toxic from our body. It can  reduce the chance to get  cancer in large intestine.
Ginger   :     contains calcium, vitamin C, B1 and B2, carbohydrate, protein and fiber. It contains anti bacteria agent, can also reliefe the inflammation and reduce the car-sick symptom.

 

Steamed Butterfish & Chinese Gravy



Ingredients

 

500

White Butterfish

Ham

cut into square size 4.5 x 5.5 cm

20

Black Mushroom

soak until soften and halved.

 

50

Bamboo shoot,

sliced into half circle size 0.5 cm

Young Ginger, shredded

Soup stock

Method

 

•  Wash While butterfish, remove its scales and make 4 slits on it.

 

•   Place ½ of Black Mushroom, Ham and Young ginger into deed plate and put Butterfish on top. Place Ham, Black mushroom and bamboo shoot into slits of Butterfish pour Soup stock and cover. Cook on Microwave HIGH for 5 minutes and after cook, pour Chinese Gravy serve hot.

 

Ingredients [Chinese gravy]

Young ginger, shredded

Sunflower oil

Soup stock

Chinese tapioca flour

Water

 

Seasonings

 

 

 

1 ½

Oyster oil

Light soy sauce

Dark soy sauce

Pepper powder

 

Method

 

Mix Chinese tapioca flour and water together.

 

Put Sunflower oil and Ginger into casserole uncover. Cook on Microwave HIGH for 1 minute.

 

Add in Soup stock, Oyster oil, light soy sauce and Pepper powder stir well. Cook on Microwave HIGH for 2 minutes.

 

Add in [1] stir well and uncover. Cook on Microwave HIGH 30 second.
